Goal: To pack up our backpacks, get through security, and fit them on the plane with all of our gear safely on the other end. To practice traveling on a strict budget. (Also, to spend a few days relaxing on a beach)
Archives for 2011
Where are we going in 2012?
We are leaving for Hong Kong at the end of January and making our way through the rest of Southeast Asia until July. Josh’s close friend lives in Singapore and we are excited to stay with him for a few weeks and then visit other destinations throughout Bali, Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand.
One Word: Unpredictable
No matter what type of traveler you are: luxury or backpacker, super planner or fly by the seat of your pants-er there will always be a level of unpredictability in your travels.
Ode to my Packing Cube
The right gear can make or break your trip. What is your favorite/must-have gear item?
Just Go.
We have already mentioned these four videos as a big motivation and inspiration for traveling, but here is one more that makes us just want to GO.

My Families
My “family” has taught me everything I know and has helped shape who I am today. This family taught me the basics. How to make decisions and the consequences that go along with those decisions. They taught me personal finance and how to save my weekly chore money for that one big item I wanted to purchase.
Thank You 2011 for a Great Year
Dear 2011,

Speeding in Costa Rica
One of our favorite ways to travel in any country is to rent our own car and pick up a map.. not because it makes our travels easier, but it definitely makes it more exciting. Earlier this year we set out on a trip through Costa Rica and drove from Tamarindo to Monteverde to Arenal. Every unpaved road, road sign, and roadside fruit stand made the trip an adventure.
