Sit in economy and develop a case of the cocktail flu
Lindsay Hartfiel says
Definitely sit in economy…it’s always so much more entertaining!

sit in economy. definitely. the handful of times ive sat in first class (thanks mom who works for the airline!) i feel “outclassed” anyways! not to say ive ever turned it down…but with a sick person beside me, give me the back of the plane any day of the week

I think I am out voted! I would take my airborne and Vitamin C pills and risk it up in first class !

Economy class seat…..It is easier to recover from the cramps of a tiny economy seat than from a exotic first class disease! …..and the money you saved can be used for a massage at the spa at your destination!!

my answer depends – flights over 3 hours, I’ll join the sickie in first class; flights under 2 hours, I’ll take economy class. I’m sure to some my answer sounds backwards – I’ll only sit with the person with the flu if we get a lot of time together…. but its more about the risk of getting sick is not worth it for a short flight in first class. I’ll take my chances (and slather myself with Purell) to enjoy the benefits of first class over economy on those long flights

Economy class. The flu has longer lasting negative effects…
JL says
I would sit in first class and try to sleep through the flight.

Depends on how obnoxious the “sickie” is, if loud and fussy and obviously miserable, definitely I’d sit in coach, especially on a short flight. If quiet, I could suffer through it especially on an oversees flight.

Depends on how long the flight is…domestic less than 3 hours totally economy. International bring on the flu!!!
AR says
Depends on the length of the flight, but I think I would definitely go with the economy seat. Not enough vitamins or Purell in the world could make me choose to sit next to a sicky.
Kendall McCarty says
I got my flu shot…first class please! 🙂

Always first or business class. The seats are not near as close together and alcohol kills the germs!
Josh says
As much as I love first class, I dislike being sick more. I’d settle for economy on a short flight. Thanks for all the responses everyone!

Definitely first class! My husband and I got bumped to first on United once and we were so secluded that we could hardly talk to each other. If it was the pod type first then def would go with that. But I would probably still do the smaller first as well. First Class is just a different world 🙂
