I would definitely rather be chauffeured around, in general. That way I can look around and enjoy the sights. But if it’s a “fun” method of transportation – motorbike in Thailand, for example, I’d rather be driving! 🙂

In general, I’ve found I prefer driving myself whether it’s car, motorbike, bicycle or walking around. It adds to the adventure when you’re constantly getting lost and discovering new things.

I personally would rather drive myself as I feel better sitting behind the wheel. Heard about the two big earthquakes off Indonesia this morn and hope and pray that all is well as you didn’t post today. Take care

Everything is fine, we are in Laos, which is pretty far away from the earthquake and tsunami. Our prayers go out to anyone affected by it.

I would much rather drive. I get to control the level of adventure and randomness. If I see something I want to do or some different vantage point, I can. But I am also a combat driver, so for me it is the part of the journey most exciting.

Drive myself for sure. I haven’t done too much international travel but stateside, I love stopping in all sorts of little towns and at viewpoints, etc. That is so much easier to achieve on your own feet, on your own quad, in your own vehicle.

If it’s a long distance, I want to take the train, usually, smooth comfort and if there is a dining car you can grab a beer. Driving, even on the autobon is not all that great, it too, has traffic and construction. IF it’s a short distance, then I like to drive. However, I would never drive a car in Asia, it’s just a complete higher level of chaos. Lanes and stop lights are “merely a suggestion”

This one is a toughie..normally I want to drive myself because then I at least have control of when I can leave, when I can stop etc. But if I’m traveling then I say I’d rather be driven, like Miss Daisy.

I would much rather be driven because I can sleep.
