After we enjoyed 18 holes of mini golf at Kauai mini golf, we checked out their wall map of the USA with pins all over it displaying visitor’s hometowns. This is exactly the type of map we want in our house, only with the rest of the world included!

RTW Budget: Barcelona and Madrid
14 days is all we were able to spend in Spain, split between Barcelona and Madrid, and it wasn’t enough. The food, the street art, the food, the people, the food, the language, did I mention the food? Tapas, olives, Iberian ham, serrano ham, CHEESE, fresh bread, paella, patatas bravas, wine and sangria. We spent […]
Beautiful Sunrise on the NaPali Coast Aboard Holo Holo Charters
We saw a 35 foot whale fully breach less than 20 feet from the boat and land in a massive splash sending crazy waves to our boat, National Geographic style! We stood there collectively screaming “OH MY GOODNESS” with our jaws dropped to the floor of the boat. What seconds ago was just a catamaran […]

RTW Budget: Cape Town and the Garden Route

That’s right, after driving 3,300 miles on the safari, we decided to drive another 1,000 along the famed Garden Route in South Africa. The Garden Route stretches from Cape Town to Port Elizabeth, through […]
A Day on the Wailua River with Kayak Kauai
We do a majority of our exploring independent of tour groups. We love the adventure of taking wrong turns and figuring out the details as we go. But every now and then we hear about outstanding tour companies and we opt to pass over the drivers seat and spend a day in their world, seeing […]
Travel Guide: 72 Hours in Chicago, Illinois
Why do we love Chicago? We are biased, it’s the first city we lived in together after we were married, and have an endless amount of happy memories in this city! Chicago is what I think of as a clean New York. The streets are clean, the parks are manicured and the people will stop to […]

In true Hawaiian style, Josh and Tony hiked the 1.5 hour trail to Sacred Falls barefoot.
How Much Does a Self-Drive Safari Cost?
If you’ve been following the RTW budget updates so far, you’re probably thinking, “Wow, this RTW travel stuff is pretty affordable!” At the end of our almost 6 months in Southeast Asia, we were so far under budget it was funny. We had only spent about $6,000 traveling through 7 countries. Based on our planned […]
