One of our favorite days of last year was spent climbing the sand dunes in Sossusvlei and walking around the skeleton trees at Deadvlei. The dead trees leave an erie openness along the clay pan and are surrounded by some of the highest sand dunes in the area reaching 300-400 meters.
San Francisco: Where and What to Eat in the City
Josh and I just spent 4 jam packed days in San Francisco. We did the tourist thing walking 10+ miles all over the city, we spent one day with Josh’s sister hanging out more like a local and the last day was spent meeting some of you in person that we had only met online! […]
What is Housesitting?
We are currently housesitting in California in the Sierra Nevada mountains. We have the great opportunity of watching over 2 horses, 2 cats and 4 dogs. Sound like a lot? The horses are easy, we feed them twice a day. The cats we rarely see (except when they are climbing all over Josh) just make sure […]
Foto Friday: Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco
A bridge that has been on my bucket list for awhile is the Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisoco. We got lucky with clear blue skies and warm weather in February as we walked the 1.7 miles across and back in awe of the iconic bridge.

Second Chance Cities Around the World

Beautiful Sunrise on the NaPali Coast Aboard Holo Holo Charters
We saw a 35 foot whale fully breach less than 20 feet from the boat and land in a massive splash sending crazy waves to our boat, National Geographic style! We stood there collectively screaming “OH MY GOODNESS” with our jaws dropped to the floor of the boat. What seconds ago was just a catamaran […]
Botswana National Parks: Photo Essay of Moremi Game Reserve
Botswana is a country that is easy to fall in love with. If nothing more than for the vast Botswana sky. It is an unbelievable experience to spend all day high on adrenaline in search of wild animals. You quickly realize that you don’t have to search hard in that they are everywhere to be […]

A Day on the Wailua River with Kayak Kauai
We do a majority of our exploring independent of tour groups. We love the adventure of taking wrong turns and figuring out the details as we go. But every now and then we hear about outstanding tour companies and we opt to pass over the drivers seat and spend a day in their world, seeing […]
