Wilderness, South Africa–which ranks as one of my favorite city names–is known for its endless beaches and water sports. We weren’t in search of any crazy water sports on this trip, only a few days of peace and quiet to experience the natural beauty of the garden route while catching up on some R&R. When […]
Elliebum Café & Guesthouse [Guesthouse Review]
Gade, the owner of Elliebum is a delight to spend time with. We couldn’t review this guesthouse without highlighting her. She greets you every morning ready to prepare the most delicious breakfast and cup of coffee. She is also a great resource for what to do in Chiang Mai.

Railay’s Eastside Hideaway
Prior to arriving in Railay I had heard two things about the island. The beaches on the west side were breathtaking and the “beaches” on the east side were full of mangroves and dirt. I had no idea what to expect and when I finally arrived after 2 flights and a long overnight bus trip […]

Dana Guesthouse [Hotel Review]
The amenities included when you stay at this guesthouse are pretty impressive. If you want peace and quiet from other tourists and you don’t mind a fan-cooled room and living simply than this is a great place to stay. For $7/person you get to use their motorbike, breakfast included, free pick-up from the airport if your stay is over 2 nights, free wi-fi (when it works) and complimentary coffee and water.
W Ft. Lauderdale [Hotel Review]
With Josh’s Platinum status with SPG, I have to admit that we get spoiled when we visit any of their properties. Check-in was quick and they had upgraded us a couple of levels to a two room flat. It had a full kitchen, living room, two bedrooms and two bathrooms and three balconies!
